Superbreak Announces Launch of European Food Guides
(PRWEB UK) 26 July 2013 -- A recent survey, commissioned by short break specialist Superbreak, surveyed the eating habits of British holidaymakers. The survey found that despite 73 per cent of British holidaymakers describing themselves as adventurous when it comes to food, nearly a third of them refuse to try regional dishes when holidaying in Europe.
The survey also found that 48 per cent of the 1,000 people polled claimed that their trip would be ruined if they couldn’t find British food. While a third of them believe that European food is healthier than British, nearly 30 per cent of people would view burgers and Full English as the ‘safest’ dish to eat whilst away. 23% of people even claim to have eaten a Roast Dinner during a European holiday.
In a bid to make the nation a little more cuisine courageous, short break specialist Superbreak is encouraging Brits to take a Holi-Diet from British food on their next break away by producing food guides to three of its top selling European destinations; Rome, Barcelona and Paris. The guides are designed so the reader can both save money and get a more authentic experience of their chosen destination. The food guides have been circulated throughout Superbreak's social media channels as well as through influential food and travel bloggers.
Darren Neylon at Superbreak said: “With so much current interest in food and travel, we expected the public to be more daring when it comes to food, but it seems that many are still missing out on the great cuisine European destinations have to offer. We’re helping holidaymakers discover the best that each destination has to offer by producing tailored food guides for each of our top locations.”
Over the past 12 months, Superbreak has been expanding its European portfolio by offering a variety of transport options, including Eurostar breaks to 11 destinations, mini cruises to Bruges and Amsterdam and, more recently, flight inclusive city breaks. The tour operator has become a one stop shop for European city breaks as they are now able to arrange everything from international transport, transfers, hotels, attractions and even airport hotels and parking.
