OTTAWA, Ontario, Dec. 18, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- You.i TV, the leading provider of cross-platform development tools for TV and media, today announced the appointment of two respected media industry leaders -- Jason Press and Brooks Tobey -- to its board of directors. These executives round out an impressive team of advisors from across the media, technology and the investment communities.
Jason Press is Executive Vice-President of Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) Technology and Program Management at WarnerMedia and leads the engineering, technology operations and program management teams for the soon-to-be launched HBO Max. Prior to joining WarnerMedia, Press spent a decade with Comcast Cable, first as chief technology officer, then as SVP of product development. Press will represent AT&T on the You.i TV board.
Brooks Tobey is well-known in the media and entertainment space as the former head of technology strategy and business operations at Turner (now WarnerMedia), where he held a number of technology roles through nearly 20 years, leading strategy for the last five. Tobey was also a board member for iStreamPlanet, the company responsible for streaming the world's largest live sporting events including the Olympics and the Super Bowl; and board member for FreeWheel (acquired by Comcast), a provider of comprehensive ad platforms for publishers, advertisers, and media buyers.
"We are very pleased to welcome these seasoned executives to the You.i TV board of directors," said You.i TV co-founder and CEO Jason Flick. "Jason Press' position at the forefront of one of the most anticipated DTC offerings in HBO Max, and Brooks' industry leadership for over two decades gives us invaluable perspective and insight as we help our customers to "own the glass" and distribute their content everywhere."
These new additions join David Beazley, of Sky NOW TV who joined the board in May 2019. The Comcast-owned Sky invested in You.i TV as part of the larger Series C funding announced in November 2018.
"In the rapidly-evolving industry of media and entertainment, You.i TV has created a technology that allows companies to not only go wide and reach users, but also to reimagine what a cross-platform direct-to-consumer service can offer. It is a pleasure to be a part of this journey," said Press.
"I had the pleasure of first working with You.i TV as a customer," said Tobey. "I was so impressed with the company's technology and leadership, I decided to join their board as an independent to continue working with the team. I have tremendous belief in where the company is headed and I'm thrilled to help push things even further."
You.i TV team will be exhibiting at C-Space during CES 2020 January 6-9. To see how You.i TV is helping the largest brands in TV and media differentiate by extending reach, increasing innovation and gaining greater UX control, book a private meeting: go.youi.tv/ces-2020.
