Delray Beach Dentists Drs. Tom and Joy Rohrer Help Local Kids Through Make a Wish Foundation
Delray Beach, FL (PRWEB) July 13, 2013 -- Drs. Tom and Joy Rohrer and their team will be donating a day's worth of work to the Make a Wish Foundation, to help fulfill the wish of a child with a life-threatening condition. In addition, some of the proceeds will be destined to one of their existing patients, who is suffering from a medical condition and needs help affording the care. All of the patients seen that day are in need of dental care and have financial difficulty affording it, so those patients who receive care that day, will be receiving highly discounted fees on the services performed. Drs. Rohrer will also be accepting donations from their family of patients, friends and colleagues.
Rohrer Dental Wellness Center, a dental practice located in Delray Beach, FL., has been helping the Palm Beach County community for almost 30 years. From collecting and donating Christmas gifts donations for young ones in need, to participating in the local soup kitchen, and donating dental services to local charities, Drs. Rohrer and their team have shown a strong commitment to helping their local community.
“Being part of a profession where you can help people on a regular basis is very fulfilling. When you add to that having the ability, with the help of your team and your patients, to fulfill someone’s wish or help someone in need, it is no doubt one of the most rewarding feelings you can experience,” says Dr. Tom, who came up with this idea in the first place.
Although this is the first time Drs. Rohrer partner with Make a Wish Southern Florida, they have, over the years, donated products and services to local charities such as Habitat for Humanity, C.R.O.S Ministries (The Caring Kitchen), Delray Beach Rotaract and the Achievement Center. They have also performed complimentary exams and cleanings to local elementary schools and the Boys and Girls Club of Delray. Giving back has always been an intrinsic part of their philosophy of practice.
“It’s going to be a great event. It’s like a three-way good deed: you help existing patients by offering highly discounted care; you help a child in need fulfill their wish; and you help one of our favorite patients get the care he deserves. You can’t go wrong,” says Dr. Joy Rohrer, who will be also donating her time to help this cause.
“Lend a Hand, Make a Wish” will take place July 19, 2013 at 8am. Work will be performed until 1pm that day. The goal: collect at least $5000 to give away to these two wonderful causes. Donations from patients and friends will also be accepted.
