MedSys Group Names Meg Grimes Senior Strategist of Its Advisory Services Team
Plano, TX (PRWEB) August 05, 2013 -- MedSys Group today announced the designation of Meg Grimes as Senior Strategist of its Advisory Services Division. Over the past six months, the company has assembled the most innovative group of leaders in the Healthcare IT market to attract the best technologists, clinicians, program managers, and IT and healthcare strategists to create a practice that can truly align with the company’s vision of evolving healthcare. Grimes will focus on helping customers attain more value from their EHRs by identifying ways for improved workflow, adoption and value realization.
“In late 2010, Providence Health and Services undertook one of the fastest large Epic deployments ever attempted. Meg Grimes and I were counterparts, she leading the Epic vendor team and I the Providence implementation team. Meg was absolutely spectacular - perennially calm, focused on our shared success, and forever looking for ways she could bring value from the resource and knowledge pools within Epic,” Dick Taylor, Managing Director and Chief Medical Officer for MedSys Group said. “While working with her, I knew I had a partner I could count on and trust. I am delighted and honored to work with Meg again.”
Grimes began her more than seven-year career at Epic helping customers implement the clinical outpatient product. She quickly progressed into leading complex, large-scale electronic health record implementations in Canada and the U.S. She has a deep understanding of balancing EHR capabilities, with organizational goals, while always maintaining patient care as the primary goal for any software implementation. She also has the unique ability to work with executives on their overall visions and dive into the details to ensure the vision is being met.
“Working with a large number of organizations has taught me that while the goal for integrating technology and operations may be similar, the path often varies based on an organization’s culture, strategic goals, and capacity to change,” Grimes said. “The key is linking new ways of thinking and acting to the ultimate goal of improving patient care. I am a firm believer that technology has the capability to vastly transform care by capturing and displaying the correct data to effectively assist providers with medical decision-making.”
To position itself ahead of the market, MedSys is creating an Advisory Services Division made up of thought leaders in key industry categories that will be crucial to the success of healthcare institutions over the next decade. The team focuses on four key practice areas: planning, clinical adoption and optimization, business continuity, and value realization.
In January, MedSys named Steven Heck as company president. Heck has already made an immediate impact on the thinking in the industry with his forward look at Beyond the Boom: What Happens After Meaningful Use? For its second addition to the Team, MedSys went outside of healthcare to tap one of the country’s leading infrastructure architects, Thure Meyer. Dr. Dick Taylor joined the company shortly after, offering his unique combination of technical and clinical experience. Now with its fourth addition, Grime’s adds critical implementation insights and is another MedSys advocate of value identification and realization.
“I am excited and honored to join such an intelligent group of diverse industry leaders who are aligned with my values and the goal to evolve healthcare,” Grimes said. “I believe the majority of organizations have so much more potential to improve healthcare while also reducing overall costs through leveraging their EHRs. I am passionate about assisting them to unleash this potential and I believe MedSys is at the forefront of this work.”
