ETS Has Attained NSF/ANSI Standard 61 Certification for Their Ultraviolet Drinking Water Systems
Coventry, RI (PRWEB) August 08, 2013 -- ETS, a wholly owned subsidiary of Neptune-Benson, is pleased to announce they have been certified as NSF/ANSI Standard 61 compliant for their UV drinking water systems.
NSF/ANSI Standard 61 Drinking Water System Components - Health Effects is the standard that establishes the minimum health effects requirements for materials, components, products or systems that contain drinking water treatment chemicals or both. This standard, for example ensures that the UV light does not degrade components used within the products. Plastics degrade under UV light and so would be unlikely to attain NSF-61.
ETS is an expert in the application of UV light, offering both medium pressure and low pressure amalgam lamp technologies. Flexible design ensures that ETS can provide advanced technology
solutions for both new installations and retrofits of existing systems, in a range of simple to footprint challenging environments. Our leading UV systems safeguard against chlorine tolerant microorganisms such as Cryptosporidium and Giardia.
From only a few GPM to full-scale water treatment plants treating flows of 30 MGD in a single chamber, ETS can provide effective solutions for any specification or location. All systems are independently, third party validated in accordance with the US EPA guidelines for drinking water, or the NWRI guidelines for reuse water.
“We are very proud to be certified as NSF/ANSI Standard 61,” said Jon McClean, ETS President. “We design our systems for longevity, ease of use and to be a very robust barrier. NSF-61 certification lets owners know that the materials we select are well suited to this aggressive environment.”
