Irving, TX (PRWEB) September 05, 2013 -- VHA Inc., the national health care network, has appointed Chris Holt as senior vice president and executive officer of the VHA Upper Midwest region and the VHA Upper Midwest Consolidated Services Center. He will oversee the strategic and business aspects of both entities, managing activities at the local level as well as developing strategies, programs and services to help members meet their clinical and operational improvement goals.
Holt brings both global corporate strategy and supply chain experience to this position, having worked in the United States, China and Europe in product development, marketing, distribution, network design and consulting in health care supply chain strategy and logistics. He recently served as chief executive officer of Tiger Medical Group, a privately-held medical product supplier. Working in both Shanghai, China and in Alpharetta, Ga., Holt launched more than 200 products in 20 medical disposable product categories and built an integrated delivery network (IDN) customer base and distribution network spanning the United States and Europe. This culminated in Anatomy Supply Products purchasing Tiger earlier this year.
Previously, Holt served as a corporate strategist and vice president of global sourcing for Cardinal Health. As the senior leader for China, he built the company’s medical device business, launched new product lines in 12 categories, and tailored strategies across hospital supply, laboratory, ambulatory and pre-source customer segments.
Holt also spent six years at United Parcel Service (UPS), spearheading their health care strategy, which included consulting, third-party logistics, and enterprise health care. Prior to his position at UPS, he held positions with ZEFER Corp. (now NEC), Ernst & Young LLP (now Cap Gemini Ernst & Young) and Emery Worldwide (now UPS Supply Chain Solutions).
Holt holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Southern California and a Master of Engineering degree in logistics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
