Comedian Kathy Griffin Bringing Grammy-Winning Wit to Indiana
Anderson, Indiana (PRWEB) March 10, 2014 -- Two-time Emmy winner and Grammy award-winning comedian Kathy Griffin will perform at Hoosier Park Racing & Casino’s Terrace Showroom on Saturday, April 26. Known for her rapid-fire wit and unique, irreverent take on celebrity culture, Griffin is on tour promoting her one-hour weekly pop culture talk show ‘Kathy’ airing on the Bravo network.
A native of Chicago, Griffin landed her first major role as Vickie Groener, opposite Brook Shields, on NBC’s sitcom ‘Suddenly Susan’ in 1996. Quickly rising in popularity with multiple celebrity guest television appearances, Kathy garnered rave reviews in 2005 with the debut of her reality television series ‘Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List.’ In total, the Bravo network’s reality series earned Griffin two Emmys for Outstanding Reality Program and three additional Emmy nominations.
In 2013, Griffin made history with her sixth consecutive Grammy nomination and first win for the comedy album ‘Kathy Griffin: Calm Down Gurrl,’ joining the likes of Whoopi Goldberg and Lily Tomlin as the only other female comedians to ever win Grammy awards in the Best Comedy Album category.
