Steve and Amanda Tokita Open First Caring Transitions Franchise in Hawaii
Honolulu, HI (PRWEB) April 23, 2014 -- Steve and Amanda Tokita have opened the very first Caring Transitions franchise in Hawaii to bring senior relocation services to Honolulu and the Island of Oahu as well as the neighboring islands.
“I always envisioned owning a business of my own one day and, while just clicking around online at home, I found Caring Transitions and the proverbial light went on over my head. There are people in our community who desperately need the services Caring Transitions can provide. This is a huge opportunity to help people in need while owning my own business,” Steve said.
Caring Transitions specializes in organizing and managing senior relocations, downsizing, decluttering, liquidation of belongings and estate sales for seniors who are moving to a smaller home, back in with their children, or into assisted living facilities. The Tokitas can help with full and partial liquidations, staging home for sale, interviewing potential realtors, and setting up belongings in a new home.
“We have extremely strong family ties in Hawaii, but the cost of living is so high that many people work multiple jobs or have family who live on the mainland. Senior relocations are already challenging, but it’s even harder when you can’t find anyone to help. When my mom’s friend went into assisted living, my mom helped with what she could, but it was a traumatic experience and it strained their relationship. Caring Transitions is here to help your family through those challenges,” Steve said.
Steve was born and raised in Hawaii and grew up in Pearl City. He graduated from Pearl City High School in 1983 and attained his bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of Hawaii in 1988.
Steve’s professional career began with Fisher Hawaii, where he served as the Receiving Department Manager and later the Purchasing Manager. In that role, he and his staff helped put together Fisher Hawaii’s massive monthly advertisements. He also worked with Bank of Hawaii, Fastening Specialty and Hopaco before joining Xerox Hawaii in 2000. At Xerox, Steve worked his way up to running all services for the Hawaii operations and was responsible for all manned services accounts in Hawaii.
While Steve is leading the Caring Transitions business, he is doing so with the help of his wife, Amanda. The two live in Pearl City with their 11-year-old son. Amanda was raised on Maui and is a Maui High graduate. She has been working in the business community on Oahu for almost 30 years.
“Our motto here at Caring Transitions of Honolulu is ‘Our ohana is here to help your ohana’ and we truly believe in that. We are here to help your family through a challenging time and to make the experience as positive as possible,” Steve said.
Founded in 2006, the Caring Transitions franchise has been a trusted and highly respected national company leading the way in senior moving, household liquidations and estate sales management in dozens of cities across the United States. Caring Transitions is part of the International Franchise Association, the Small Business Association’s Franchise Registry, VetFran and Minority Fran.
Each franchise owner is a Certified Relocation & Transition Specialist, a designation bestowed by an independent organization that evaluates providers of senior relocation services. They are training, bonded and insured.
