Perkins Eastman Expands Presence in China
New York, NY (PRWEB) August 20, 2014 -- The Board of Directors of top international design and architecture firm Perkins Eastman is pleased to announce the expansion of its healthcare planning and design services in China and the surrounding region. In support of this strategic growth, internationally recognized Principal Richard Sprow AIA has relocated to the firm’s office in Shanghai, China, to continue his 40-year career in healthcare planning and design and to better support regional clients.
Ron Vitale AIA, Managing Principal of Perkins Eastman’s Shanghai office, says, “With Rich’s arrival, Perkins Eastman’s Shanghai office is poised to respond with more agility to the fast pace of projects here and to the specific technical and cultural needs of healthcare work, a rapidly growing market.” Continuing, he said: “Rich and I have worked together for more than 15 years, including on previous healthcare projects in both China and the United States, and I am happy to add him to our rapidly growing staff in Shanghai.”
Ranked in the top ten of U.S. healthcare architecture design firms per Building Design + Construction’s recent industry survey, Perkins Eastman’s diverse body of healthcare work includes projects around the world for top academic medical centers, specialty hospitals including cancer care centers, and teaching hospitals, as well as community hospitals, ambulatory care centers, and specialty facilities.
Sprow says of his focus on enhancing the firm’s healthcare expertise in China: “I am excited to take up this long-term assignment in Shanghai where I can continue working with our growing roster of Chinese clients and be a part of the new wave of private healthcare development that is happening now.” He continues: “I am looking forward to leading the development of a larger healthcare planning group here while continuing to work with Perkins Eastman’s offices in the United States, Dubai, and Mumbai to deliver large-scale healthcare projects.”
Sprow joined Perkins Eastman in 2004, bringing with him considerable knowledge and project management skills working with clients throughout the United States, Asia, and the Middle East. His extensive project experience spans more than 200 projects in the United States, as well as previous international work in the United Kingdom, China, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, and India. Sprow has been an adjunct faculty member in New York University’s School of Continuing Education, Professional Health Care Program, and has conducted seminars on Health Care Facility Management and Ambulatory Care Facilities. He holds membership with the American Society for Healthcare Engineering, the AIA Academy of Architecture for Health, the New York Society for Health Planning, and the American Institute of Architects (corporate). He also presents regularly at healthcare conferences around the world.
Perkins Eastman has also added Hao-Che Hsu to the Shanghai healthcare practice group as an Associate. Hsu brings to the firm more than ten years of experience as a senior medical planner, with analytical, planning, and design experience on a wide variety of hospital and healthcare projects in the United States.
