Death Wish Coffee Company Announces New Liquor Infused Coffee
Round Lake, New York (PRWEB) November 06, 2014 -- Death Wish Coffee Company, the market leader for strong coffee, unveiled their new line of Barrel Brand Coffee today. They will feature four flavor profiles including whiskey, rye, rum, and wine. Using oak barrels from a local distillery, they have created a high quality spirit infused single origin coffee. They are positive this will create excitement for sophisticated palettes of both specialty coffee and that of fine liquor connoisseurs.
"We feel that craft coffee will quickly become as important to the coffee industry as craft beer is to the beer market. Our team is working hard every day to lead and revolutionize the coffee industry. We love innovating new ways to roast coffee and saw an opportunity to create an amazing coffee bean and spirit hybrid. We also realized that it would take a strong brand to perfect the process and create a quality product, a role that we are happy to fill” said John Swedish, director of product development for Death Wish Coffee. “Death Wish Coffee Company’s new Barrel Brand Coffee will be the first of many revolutionary coffee lines that we’ll be creating in the next few years”.
For the new Barrel Brand Coffee, 3 of the 4 types of barrel aged coffee will be available on Thursday, November 6, 2014 on BarrelCoffee.com. These include Rum Barrel Brand Coffee, Whiskey Barrel Brand Coffee, and Rye Barrel Brand Coffee. Each batch of Barrel Brand Coffee takes almost two months to create from start to finish.
“We start with freshly poured oak barrels from The Albany Distilling Co., a local premium liquor distillery whom we’ve become great friends with. We add our unroasted green coffee beans and then seal the oak barrels and allow the coffee to age for up to 20 days. This aging process allows the coffee beans to completely absorb much of the respective spirit. After the aging process, we allow the coffee beans to settle into a state that is prime for roasting. The roasting process on these beans was one of the trickiest we’ve seen so far. However, our expert roasters were able to capture the shade and profile we were looking for. The result is an aromatic coffee that balances the flavor characteristics of both the specialty coffee and the premium craft spirit.”
Only about 800 packages of the initial run will be available on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at BarrelCoffee.com. Mike Brown, C.E.O. of Death Wish Coffee, says that they will only be producing 1 batch of each flavor quarterly through 2015. The best way to ensure access to these small batches is to join Death Wish Coffee’s mailing list.
