Glass Artist Peter Edward Jurgens of Krystal Glass Company Replaces Broken Etched Glass Window With Original Glass Etching Artwork
Pompano Beach, Florida (PRWEB) November 18, 2014 -- Glass artist Peter Edward Jurgens of Krystal Glass Company recently replaced a broken glass sidelight window with a new glass etching to match the original. The South Florida homeowners did not know where to turn because the glass entryway was etched before they bought the house by a glass artist unknown to them.
When doors, sidelights or windows with custom glass etching break and need to be replaced, often the homeowner does not know where to turn. In many cases, the custom artwork was done years ago by a glass artist who is unknown to the homeowner or out of business.
Glass artist Peter Edward Jurgens is an expert at replacing broken etched glass and making it look just like the original.
"It is very important to select a talented and experienced glass artist to reproduce the artwork on glass," said Karen Jurgens, of Krystal Glass Company. "Otherwise, all the glass may need to be replaced if the result looks terrible."
Glass etching is a permanent design applied with a light abrasive sand blasting process. It cannot be erased or etched over if a mistake is made.
Because of the complexity of this design, Peter Edward chose to complete the etched glass sidelight at the South Broward home so that all the elements of the design would line up with the original three pieces of glass that were still intact.
“I am completely in awe of Pete’s work, and of how quickly he did it. My husband and I are both thrilled,” the homeowner said. “I can’t get over how perfect it looks. Like it never even happened!”
