WORX Clamping Sawhorses Expand Work Holding Versatility
Charlotte, N.C. (PRWEB) April 14, 2015 -- “WORX Clamping Sawhorses provide solid support for a much wider range of work holding and material cutting applications than traditional sawhorses,” said Brian Renner, product manager for WORX. “They quickly become workshop favorites, and their light weight and compact size make them easy to carry, transport to work sites, and store when not in use.”
Sawhorses, of course, have been workshop, building site and DIY staples for generations. Mainly, they have been used to support boards and planks for cutting, as well as temporary work stations.
Now, WORX engineers have taken a giant leap forward in versatility by adding innovative features, such as specially designed bar clamps (included) that fit without tools into a channel along the top of each Clamping Sawhorse. These squeeze clamps can be positioned for either horizontal or vertical clamping to secure copper or PVC pipe, 2x lumber, 4x4s, sheet goods, including plywood, plus other materials for cutting, sanding, painting or staining. The bar clamps also can be detached and used separately, if desired.
Other exclusive design elements include two notched areas on top of each clamping sawhorse for holding 2x4’s. These slots accommodate 2x4’s being used as supports for cutting 4x8 sheet goods, such as plywood. The 2x4’s elevate the work material, providing a protective layer during ripping operations so the sawhorses do not come in contact with the blade.
The sturdy, clamping sawhorses are constructed of high-impact polypropylene. They weigh only 15.6 lbs. (clamps included), and can handle loads up to 1,000 lbs per pair. When fully opened, the clamping sawhorses are 27 inches wide and stand at a comfortable working height of 32 inches. When closed, they measure 32.6 inches high, by 27 inches wide, by 2½ inches deep, for easy storage.
The bar clamps have an 18 inch spreader capacity and feature non-marring faces to secure work materials without damage. When the bar clamps are not in use, they can be placed in a storage slot on the sawhorse’s frame.
The WORX Clamping Sawhorses (WX065, $69.99) are available at Lowes. They are covered by the WORX 3-year warranty.
