Kizoom Expands Brain Game Lineup with Brainventures
Berkeley, CA (PRWEB) July 01, 2015 -- Kizoom, maker of award-winning educational apps for children, has announced the release of Brainventures, its third and most ambitious game designed to teach kids about the brain and growth mindset.
Brainventures is currently available on iOS and is designed for kids aged 7-10. Players take the role of a brain cell inside a child’s brain, and they progress through narrative quests and playful mini-games as they befriend other neuron characters in their quest to reach the Hall of Brain.
Brainventures was designed by a team of neuroscience and education experts, and aims to help children learn growth mindset skills -- such as perseverance, curiosity, and confidence -- by communicating the idea that children can change their brains for the better by engaging in such habits as eating healthy foods, exercising, and taking on new challenges.
“Children today will need to be lifelong learners to keep up with the fast pace of change,” says Erica Warp, CEO and co-founder of Kizoom, and a neuroscience PhD from University of California, Berkeley. “We are inspired by research showing that children who understand certain facts about the brain are more eager and empowered learners. We are working to bring this powerful idea out of the lab and directly to kids using gameplay and technology that they love.”
Dr. Warp is not alone in thinking that more attention should be spent engaging children with their own brain growth: the U.S. Department of Education has cited growth mindset as one of the top priorities in education today; popular brain training company Lumosity recently announced their second cognitive app for kids in their LumiKids series; and Pixar’s newest film Inside Out take place inside the mind of a child.
Brainventures is available to download for free on the App Store for iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch (with in-app purchase unlocking full content): http://kizoom.co/brainventuresapp
