OxBlue Donates Time-Lapse Construction Webcam to Document DOE Solar Decathlon
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) September 25, 2015 -- Construction cameras are used to document and monitor the build at the jobsite. Ask any developer or general contractor who’s used them and that’s likely to be their short answer. The long answer includes the role of construction webcams and time-lapse videos in communication, public relations, and marketing. So it’s no surprise that an OxBlue construction camera will be on site for the U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon 2015, where the construction projects arrive already built.
The biennial competition challenges undergraduate teams to design, build, and operate solar-powered houses that are attractive and cost-effective, as well as energy efficient. The winner is the team who best blends affordability, consumer appeal, and design excellence with optimal energy production and efficiency.
The OxBlue construction camera will transmit high-resolution images from the event, which takes place October 8–18, at the Orange County Great Park in Irvine, CA, allowing visitors to the DOE Solar Decathlon website to see the houses.
“We’re really excited to be a sponsor. The students in the competition are tomorrow’s engineers, architects, planners, and builders who will be shaping the construction industry in new ways. I’m pleased our construction webcam can help promote the important work the DOE and the college teams are doing.”
– Chandler McCormack, OxBlue CEO
Along with remote jobsite monitoring and project documentation, OxBlue construction camera systems help project owners and building professionals communicate with stakeholders, which with some projects includes the general public, and promote their work. Clients can grant access to live construction webcams to key constituents or make the active camera public through a simple web-based platform, so that anyone can follow progress at the jobsite. The camera system also includes a range of high-definition time-lapse movie capabilities that make it possible for project owners to showcase their work to potential clients and investors.
