W.S. Badger Company Named One of NH's Best Companies to Work For
Gilsum, New Hampshire (PRWEB) October 22, 2015 -- W.S. Badger Co. Inc., the maker of certified organic and truly natural skin care products, today announced being named one of the best NH companies to work for in 2015 by Business New Hampshire Magazine and its partner NH Businesses for Social Responsibility. This is the second time Badger has received this honor, having also been recognized in 2013. Badger is a family owned, family friendly company built around healthy living in the workplace and the community. Badger is also a certified B Corp, a designation achieved only by meeting rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.
Badger’s commitment to healthy business and healing products, as well as its innovative programs such as “Babies at Work,” childcare, paid volunteer hours, and free organic lunch for every employee every day are just part of the reason the company was selected as one of NH’s best places to work.
“Everyone at Badger works really hard to make the company a great place to work,” says Emily Hall-Warren, Director of Administration at Badger. “People not only love that they are making a difference through the company mission and principles but also feel fortunate to work in a place that’s incredibly inclusive and welcoming. We’re a family and this strong connection is what makes it possible for us to receive this award.”
For 18 years, Business NH Magazine and its partner NH Businesses for Social Responsibility have recognized businesses that go out of their way to create fun and high engagement workplaces for their employees through the Best Companies to Work For competition. This year’s competition focused on employee satisfaction and depended upon employee engagement and participation. In evaluating companies’ performance, results from an extensive employer survey detailing benefits and workplace practices and employee surveys that had to be completed by at least 50% of a company’s workforce were taken into account.
In celebration of the awarded companies, Business New Hampshire Magazine and NH Businesses for Social Responsibility will host Breakfast with the Best on November 11, 2015, from 7:30-10:30 a.m. at the Grappone Center in Concord, featuring a panel of executives from the winning companies discussing best practices. Bob Kelleher, the author of “I-Engage,” will deliver the keynote address.
W.S. Badger Co, Inc. is a family run, family-friendly company that has been making healing products for a healthy planet since 1995. Badger was born when Badger Bill, a carpenter at the time, created a recipe of natural ingredients strong enough to soothe his rough, dry cracked hands. Now a team of over 70 employees, Badger produces almost all of its products in Gilsum, N.H. Inherent in Badger’s DNA is its status as a B Corporation, a certification earned through B Lab, a third party nonprofit that requires companies to meet rigorous standards of transparency as well as environmental and social performance. Badger has been a certified B Corp since 2011 and in 2015 became one of New Hampshire’s first businesses to register legally as a Benefit Corporation, a for-profit status that incorporates the pursuit of positive environmental and social impact in addition to profit.
