Eventa, LLC® & American Green Technology® Engage in Study at Skilled Nursing Facility to Determine if HRMS can Improve Patient Outcomes
Livingston, Tennessee (PRWEB) November 03, 2015 -- Eventa. LLC® in partnership with American Green Technology® (AGT) is conducting a long term study to determine how effective the Health Risk Management System (HRMS) is at improving outcomes for ventilator patients. The study is being held at Standifer Place in Chattanooga, Tennessee, a skilled nursing facility with a respiratory unit specifically designed for ventilated patients.
The study is taking place in one of the respiratory wings of the Standifer Place skilled nursing facility. HRMS units have been installed in 18 double occupancy patient rooms, the adjacent hallway, 5 shared patient restrooms and a doctors’ office space. Over the course of the 6 month study, infection rates and comorbidities will be tracked in the HRMS wing and the two wings where no HRMS units have been installed. The data should be analyzed and the findings presented by April of 2016.
The Eventa Group provides nationally recognized and sought after clinical and business advisory services to healthcare clients through a multidisciplinary team using clinical knowledge, experience, innovation, objectivity, and creative solutions like the HRMS to ensure that all medically complex patients are provided the opportunity to reach their maximum potential at the appropriate care setting. Admired for expertise in ventilated patient care, Standifer Place is an ideal location for a study focusing on ventilator patients since those patients are often more prone to airborne infections due to the critical status of the injured.
“The HRMS is an ideal product for this type of study,” said Gene Gantt, President and CEO, Eventa. “Our goal at Eventa is to ensure that we do whatever we can to improve the lives of patients. Any technology that provides a new way to reduce the bioburden and move the needle on reducing infections is worth the investment. We are anxious to see the results in April.”
“We are so confident in the HRMS. We are proud to partner with the team at Eventa on this study,” said Danny Bogar, CEO of AGT. “Our teams have worked hard to pull everything together. Now we can let the HRMS do its job and minimize the risk of infection to the patients at Standifer Place.”
The HRMS uses UV-C technology to provide a safe, in-room solution for treating the air and reducing the biological burden. Reducing the amount of pathogens that ride on air currents will also impact the number of pathogens that land on surfaces, making it less likely that someone like a nurse or doctor will touch a contaminated surface and transfer it to a patient, potentially infecting them.
