Woodcraft Draws Inspiration from Customers for New Pen Carry/Display Case
PARKERSBURG, W. VA. (PRWEB) November 06, 2015 -- Woodcraft has added a new carry/display case to its line of pen turning accessories, and some Woodcraft customers will likely recognize the updates.
“Woodcraft customers’ feedback led to a redesign of our pen case,” product development manager Ben Bice said. “They asked for more flexibility, specifically the ability to lie flat. We took the customer suggestions and went above and beyond.”
This innovative new pen case offers more display flexibility than just being able to lie flat. “The WoodRiver® Pen and Pencil Premium Carry/Display Case is designed with two sections that come apart so that each part can be used independently to show off pens or pencils. The individual parts can be positioned side by side or one in front of the other, either lying flat or upright using the included legs to form an easel. Slender bands hold the pens (18 per section) securely in place.”
Pen turners who display their creations at fairs, festivals or other gatherings should especially appreciate this case’s capability for flat and upright display, Bice said.
Bice said customer feedback from the woodcraft.com link that customers receive after each purchase was the primary basis for the improvements.
Specialty Pen Kits
In addition to the pen case, Woodcraft has also added new products to its specialty pen kit line, including one named in memory of an employee and three designed around a firearms and hunting theme.
The Dugas Tri Function Pen Kit is named in memory of Gary Dugas, a 20-year Woodcraft employee who passed away in March of 2013.
“Gary’s attention to detail and pleasant personality are missed by those who knew him,” Bice said. “Like Gary, the quiet multitasker, Dugas pen users can be signing important documents with their pen one minute and navigating the Web the next with the non-marring stylus tip, while a powerful LED light is ready for action when the pen body is removed and rotated 180°.”
The Dugas is the second pen kit named in memory of an employee. In 2010, Woodcraft introduced the Rinehart Rollerball Pen kits that honored Tim Rinehart, a 19-year member of the Woodcraft family and product development manager instrumental in launching Woodcraft’s initial pen kits.
“Old meets new in the Lever Action Ballpoint Pen Kit,” Bice said. “The authentic lever action mechanism that extends and retracts this ink pen refill brings to mind the look and feel of the lever action rifle made famous by the cowboys of the American West. The Cartridge Bullet Pen Kit looks like a real 30-caliber shell, and as the Bolt Action Pen Kit name suggests, the extension and retraction of its ink refill are accomplished by a bolt action. Finishing these kits requires a wood or man-made material blank, both sold separately at Woodcraft.”
