Grand Opening of York Bridge Concepts™ (YBC) Boardwalk at Cancer Survivor’s Park in Greenville, South Carolina
Greenville, South Carolina (PRWEB) February 29, 2016 -- York Bridge Concepts’ Decero™ Design Team has designed and built an exclusive Timber Pedestrian boardwalk, a masterpiece woven into the serene landscape that connects South Church Street to the new Cancer Survivors Park. Winding through the woodlands with an integrated drop of over 90 feet in elevation, the rolling curves of this crossing complement the surrounding scenery flawlessly. The stainless steel cable railing, designed exclusively for the Survivors project, allows pedestrians uninterrupted views with effortless alliance with the structure. Treated southern yellow pine lumber was utilized throughout and will combine with proprietary acrylics and polymers with York's Timber Protective Services - unique in the industry - ensuring a long lasting product. The boardwalk reaches fifteen feet at its highest point and contains Decero™ features such as an entry portal, sharp turns, wide outs and the “Leap of Faith” overlook.
Each bridge is designed & built from scratch, incorporating YBC’s Decero™ Design Philosophy, which provides endless value to the Cancer Survivors Park. Partnering with an organization that serves a great cause, YBC is honored to participate in the partnership through the completion of this pedestrian boardwalk that will be enjoyed for generations to come. Providing main street access to the park and offering a unique “Leap of Faith” overlook section for guests and visitors to enjoy while viewing the stunning landscape surrounding the park, the opening of the boardwalk represents the completion of Phase 1 of the Cancer Survivors Park project. At the ceremony of the boardwalk grand opening, Greenville City Councilwoman Gaye Sprague said, “It is fitting that this boardwalk will lead people to a special, peaceful place.”
The boardwalk is the first step in bringing the Cancer Survivors Park Alliance’s signature project, the Cancer Survivors Park, to Greenville. The boardwalk provides Greenville’s first “tree-canopied” boardwalk and the first of 4 ADA accessible pathways into the park. “As we are gather here today on this long and winding vista, it is worth noting that this boardwalk reflects the long and winding journey that we have traveled to launch the Cancer Survivor’s Park,” said Dr. Larry Gluck, medical doctor of GHS’s Cancer Institute. York Bridge Concepts™ truly enjoyed partnering with such a great cause and looks forward to collaborating again in the future.
