Altec Celebrates Earth Day by Funding the Planting of 1,000 Trees with the National Forest Foundation
Laguna Hills, CA (PRWEB) April 22, 2016 -- Altec Products, Inc., a leader in enterprise document management and workflow solutions, announced today their active participation in celebrating Earth Day, an annual worldwide event held to demonstrate support for environmental protection, by donating to the National Forest Foundation specifically to plant trees in the nonprofit’s efforts to restore tree cover in areas where natural disasters have limited regeneration.
The National Forest Foundation (NFF) serves as a nonprofit partner of the U.S. Forest Service, maintaining and promoting the 193-million acres of national forest that span 44 states. The conservation nonprofit based in Montana focuses on connecting communities and people through resources, knowledge and funding to the environmental programs they conduct; these include wildlife habitat restoration, watershed improvements, rebuilding infrastructure such as bridges and trails for leisure activities, community programming and planting trees. Their mission is to “bring people together to restore and enhance our National Forests and Grasslands.”
doc-link, Altec’s premier software solution, helps companies reduce their usage, storage and output of paper documents by automating business processes and managing data digitally. In addition to the efficiencies they achieve in their operations, customers also reduce their overall carbon footprint – emissions during transportation of documents are reduced, less waste is generated in the office space and the need for paper products is minimized. In honor of Earth Day and as part of conscious efforts to support environmental sustainability programs, Altec has committed to NFF’s tree planting initiative through a monetary donation. This participation during the month of April aligns with the NFF’s Earth Day campaign which matches tree planting donations per dollar, doubling the impact that Altec’s contribution can make on the national forest system.
Mark Ford, CEO at Altec, states, “We are thrilled to give to an organization that is dedicated to environmental protection and conservation. Knowing that every cent of our donation will be used to beneficially affect NFF’s tree planting program encourages us to continue our commitment to the global community around us and the businesses that we support.” The 1,000 trees planted as a result of Altec’s donation will support any of the 154 national forests in need throughout the NFF’s network.
