Rock & Roll Hall of Famer to Perform and Talk Addiction and Recovery in Baltimore
Baltimore, MD (PRWEB) June 20, 2016 -- On Saturday, July 9th, Kolmac Outpatient Recovery Centers welcome Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Ricky Byrd to perform and speak at this year’s Kolmac summer event, "Tune Into Recovery."
“We are thrilled to have Ricky Byrd perform and communicate the power of recovery,” says Kolmac CEO Mark Santangelo. “His stories are as relevant as ever, offering people a way out of addiction’s grip.”
Ricky Byrd was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2015 as a member of Joan Jett & the Blackhearts and gave the group’s acceptance speech at the induction ceremony. Their iconic smash hit I Love Rock “N” Roll was number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for seven weeks in a row in 1982. Byrd is an outspoken proponent for the cause of treatment and recovery. Ricky’s mission is “Helping the active Addict/Alcoholic looking for a way out, reinforcing the benefits of a sober lifestyle to those in recovery, talking to kids who are at that age where peer pressure and experimenting can lead down a crooked and deadly path, and educating those that are uninformed of the deadly drug and alcohol pandemic we are facing in this country.”
All are invited to this free event and a complimentary lunch will be provided. Seating is limited and reservations are recommended. Please email Sourina Sandara or call (301) 589-0255 to reserve your spot.
