A Cloud Guru Releases AWS Specialty Certification Courses
(PRWEB) December 20, 2016 -- A Cloud Guru, the world's leading on-demand AWS training provider, has this week released beta courses targeted at the new AWS Specialty Certifications just one day after the exams were made available. The newly released exams are AWS Certified Security, AWS Certified Big Data and AWS Certified Advanced Networking, all of which are in high demand within the cloud space. A Cloud Guru instructors sat the new exams at AWS re:Invent, with one instructor, Adrian Cantrill, sitting all three exams himself on the day of their release, coining the popular hashtag #TripleCertMonday. The speed at which A Cloud Guru has developed these new courses just shows how committed they are to their students and the AWS community.
The AWS platform is maturing and the number of products available is getting larger, which is making it increasingly difficult to know them all, even at the most basic level. Larger enterprises are starting to use AWS, which has brought with it an increase in the complexity of the environment, higher demand for security and naturally split teams with specific business needs e.g development / business intelligence / big data & analytics etc. And of course the increasing maturity and depth of the platform has lead to the need for a more detailed knowledge of the natural ‘big 3’; networking, security and big data.
When asked what the new specialty exams were like, Adrian said that “the style of questions was more interactive than in the associate or professional exams, they test your real life understanding of the services, like what you would do when you have a network outage at 4 in the morning”. To take the exam, people are required to hold a current associate level AWS certification — solutions architect, developer or SysOps Administrator. An average or above native AWS skills — networking, security, architecture, design and operations is also needed. Based on the instructor’s experience, knowledge of the products is not enough to pass the test. It is crucial to know how to apply the understanding of the services in different scenarios whilst equally integrating the platforms with external systems.
A Cloud Guru advises to focus on one exam at the time, choosing the one that fits your skills the best because hands-on experience in each area is necessary. It’s also recommended for people to sign up for a free account and experiment with AWS — use the products, test all of the advanced features relevant to each course and build some solutions. There are plenty of projects available online and all the A Cloud Guru AWS Specialty Certification courses will contain a good number of demos and mini-projects.
Ryan Kroonenburg, founder of A Cloud Guru, commented that “the topics that are discussed in the courses were initially based on the blueprints provided on the AWS website, but after sitting the exams we can confirm that the contents are well aligned to the new exams and they will be continuously updated in the following months.” He also asserts that there is no downside to doing the AWS Specialty Certification Beta Exams as they are half the normal price because of their beta status, the courses offered by A Cloud Guru are on heavy discount, a bundle providing access to all of the courses is provided and most importantly, people who hold this new certification will be at the leading edge of the AWS space.
