Gore Introduces New Ruggedized Gore® Aerospace HDMI Cables, 2.0 Version for Civil Aircraft Applications
PLEINFELD, GERMANY (PRWEB) September 26, 2017 -- W. L. Gore & Associates (Gore) introduces a new ruggedized 2.0 version of GORE® Aerospace HDMI Cables engineered with a revolutionary fluoropolymer fiber material that is extremely abrasion-resistant without sacrificing size, weight or durability. This new version can eliminate the need for additional protective sleeving now required for cables installed in cabin seats, which means faster installation. At the same time, these smaller, lighter weight cables increase flexibility with a tighter bend radius making them easier to route in narrow seat configurations.
“With our new ruggedized version, customers can now install data cables in a high-abrasive environment without the need for additional cable protection sleeves, resulting in significant cost and weight savings,” said Adrian Milne, Global Product Specialist, Gore Civil Aerospace Team.
In addition, Gore’s HDMI 2.0 cables deliver outstanding signal integrity for high-speed data transmission up to 18 gigabits. They carry video data at faster speeds over longer distances to meet new, more complex video protocols required to keep up with passenger demand for a better in-flight entertainment (IFE) experience. These cables also meet the most stringent industry requirements and qualifications for life-long performance.
The new ruggedized 2.0 version of GORE® Aerospace HDMI Cables complements Gore’s wide variety of high data rate solutions, including Ethernet Cat5e and Cat6a cables, USB 3.1 cables, high-frequency microwave/RF cable assemblies, and more. Gore’s broad catalog of aerospace solutions will be on display at the APEX (Airline Passenger Experience Association) Expo in Long Beach, California on September 25-28, Booth 1113.
