Security Industry Association to Recognize David McGowan of Tiffany and Co. with SIA Insightful Practitioner Award

(PRWEB) October 09, 2017 -- The Security Industry Association (SIA) today announced David McGowan, Tiffany & Co.'s Vice President-Global Protection Services, as the 2017 recipient of its SIA Insightful Practitioner Award. SIA will present McGowan with the award during SIA Honors Night, a gala event to celebrate achievements in the security industry, on Nov. 15 in New York City. The SIA Insightful Practitioner Award is presented to a security practitioner who demonstrates leadership and excellence in promoting the implementation of innovative security solutions through education, advocacy and teamwork with the industry and other stakeholders.

McGowan began his career at Tiffany & Co. in 1996 as Director of Security. Today, as the company's Vice President-Global Protection Services, McGowan is charged with ensuring a workplace and shopping environment that provides for the safety of all employees and customers and for protecting the company's physical, inventory and intellectual assets. McGowan is responsible globally for the company's physical security programs; investigations programs; retail and supply chain asset protection programs; travel security and event security programs; the company's occupational safety and environmental compliance programs; trademark enforcement actions to protect the Tiffany brand and intellectual property; and the company's resilience programs, including emergency preparedness, incident management and business continuity.
McGowan is a member of the Board of Directors and Second Vice President of the International Security Management Association. Also, he is an active member of The Conference Board's Business Continuity and Crisis Management Council. And he is an active member and company representative in the Jeweler's Security Alliance.
