Crimson Cup Expands to Northeast Ohio with December 6 Grand Opening of New Tallmadge Coffee House
COLUMBUS, Ohio (PRWEB) December 04, 2017 -- Columbus, Ohio coffee roaster Crimson Cup Coffee & Tea is expanding into Northeast Ohio with a new coffee house and drive thru at 116 Tallmadge Circle in Tallmadge, Ohio. To celebrate its grand opening on Wednesday, December 6, the newest Crimson Cup Coffee House will offer $1 espresso drinks all day. A ribbon cutting ceremony with Tallmadge officials is planned for 1:00 p.m.
“We’re excited to bring awesome coffee to the Tallmadge community, which has been very welcoming,” said Founder and President Greg Ubert. “This is our first company-owned Crimson Cup Coffee House outside our home market in Columbus.” The roaster operates coffee houses in the Columbus suburbs of Clintonville and Upper Arlington as well as within the Greater Columbus Convention Center.
The 2,000-square-foot coffee house sits on one end of a newly built retail strip near the near the Tallmadge Town Square Historic District. “More than 40,000 motorists pass through Tallmadge Circle every weekday – making this a fantastic location for a coffee house with drive thru,” Ubert said. The store interior was designed by Columbus-based Kimberly Orr of Kimberly O Design, who also designed the Crimson Cup Innovation Lab and Upper Arlington coffee house.
Inside, a gas fireplace anchors a brick wall on one side of the new store, flanked by comfy leather chairs and a coffee table to encourage conversation. An Ohio logo screened onto the brick wall connects the brand to its Columbus roots and will be a staple feature of Crimson Cup Coffee Houses as the company expands. Groups of tables and chairs provide ample work and meeting space. Free Wi-Fi helps customers get down to work, while a drive-thru caters to coffee lovers on the go.
Like Crimson Cup’s Upper Arlington coffee house, the Tallmadge store features a brew bar with a Modbar Pour Over Module, which brings precision-temperature water and economy of motion to the counter. In addition to pour-over preparation of Craft espresso coffees, the brew bar offers a rotating menu of specialty coffee drinks. It also has a tap for dispensing Crimson Cup’s Nitro cold brewed coffee, a frothy, naturally sweet chilled coffee infused with nitrogen bubbles. At opening, brew bar offerings include Bourbon Barrel Maple Cortado, Maple Cinnamon Latte, Harvest Apple Tea Soda and Holiday Hopped Nitro.
In addition to brew bar offerings, the new coffee house serves a full menu of hot, iced and frozen espresso drinks – including mochas, lattes and cappuccinos – as well as iced coffee and tea, cold-brewed coffee, hot chocolate, fruit smoothies and other custom drinks. Breakfast sandwiches, heart-healthy oatmeal and award-winning local treats from Linda’s Kitchen in Tallmadge round out the menu.
When fully staffed, the Tallmadge location will employ 10 to 12 baristas and cashiers under the supervision of Coffeehouse Manager Rachel Friend and Coffeehouse Assistant Manager Marissa Ratkovic.
Friend, who hails from Bath, Ohio, earned a bachelor’s degree from John Carroll University, where she worked with Aramark Higher Education and managed a small cafe that served Crimson Cup coffee. She joined the Crimson Cup team in June of 2016 and spent 18 months working at two coffeehouse locations in Columbus.
Ratkovic, an Akron native, graduated from Coventry High School. She also joined the Crimson Cup team in June of 2016 and spent 18 months working in Columbus.
The new store is open 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday.
