Motivis Learning Now Accepting Applications for Second Annual $10,000 Aspiring Educator Scholarship
Salem, NH (PRWEB) February 08, 2018 -- Motivis Learning, the Learning Management System (LMS) that enables academic innovation, personalization of teaching and learning, and more effective student coaching and support, is pleased to announce that it is now accepting applications for its second Annual Aspiring Educator Scholarship. The $10,000 scholarship is aimed towards students enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in education. The scholarship will be awarded to the student whose essay best details how they plan to make a difference through teaching. Qualified students can learn more about how to enter a submission here.
Last year Motivis awarded the first edition of the scholarship to Kimberly Pfeifer, a student in the University of Massachusetts-Amherst’s Teacher Education and Curriculum Studies program to support her summer studies of alternative school models and management. Pfeifer’s winning essay can be found here.
“At Motivis, we’ve all chosen to work in education because we believe in the importance of teachers and the impact they have on learners’ lives. Teachers are the most crucial contributors to student success,” said Motivis CEO, Brian Peddle. “We believe we need to do more to support future educators who will drive innovation and improvement in the classrooms of tomorrow. This scholarship is our way to help support those who choose to devote their talents and energy to making education more effective and accessible.”
This year, Motivis is again asking future educators to explain how they will use their career to make a difference in the lives of their students.
In no more than 800 words (but no fewer than 500), tell us how you plan to change the world through education. More specifically, will you promote student success in the classroom and beyond, through community engagement, emerging instructional practices, and/or educational technology?
Submissions must be sent as a PDF or Word document to scholarship(at)motivislearning(dot)com. Applicants must be 18 years or older, and enrolled in an accredited graduate or undergraduate education program in the U.S. or Canada. Please include an unofficial transcript as proof of enrollment with your submission.
The deadline for the 2018 scholarship is March 31, 2018. Motivis Learning will notify recipients on April 30, 2018. For more information about this program, including judgment criteria, please refer to the Aspiring Educator Scholarship official rules.
About Motivis Learning
Motivis’ learning relationship management (LRM) platform provides institutions the curricular flexibility, analytics, advising, student information, and social learning capabilities to engage students, improve retention, and personalize learning. In contrast to the prevalent learning management systems (LMS) in the market, Motivis is built around learning objectives rather than around courses, allowing academic programs and entire institutions the flexibility to experiment with a wider array of curricular and credentialing approaches. This student-centric architecture provides academic programs the forward-looking features and flexible architecture to operate multiple curricular models simultaneously, from course-based to competency-based, without maintaining multiple technology platforms. Motivis’ capabilities can meet their essential current needs within traditional course-based curricula -- such as communications, document and content distribution, calendar, and gradebook -- while evolving to implement best practices around learning outcomes, personalization, peer interaction, student success advising and intervention, experiential learning, and engagement across curricular and extracurricular experiences that better serve learners.
