PresenceLearning Expands Its Battery of Live, Remote Video Delivery of Psychoeducational Assessments as Exclusive Online Provider of the RIAS-2
SAN FRANCISCO (PRWEB) February 20, 2018 -- PresenceLearning, the leading telehealth network of live, online special education related service providers, is announcing an addition to the research base for the equivalency of remote psychoeducational assessments featuring the Reynolds Intellectual Assessment Scales, Second Edition (RIAS-2). This research follows a 2016 independently verified study that demonstrated that live, online administration of the Woodcock-Johnson IV cognitive and achievement tests by credentialed school psychologists using our secure platform produces equivalent results to traditional, onsite administration.
PresenceLearning is the only company exclusively authorized by both PAR, Inc. and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt to administer the RIAS-2 and Woodcock-Johnson IV batteries online. Using PresenceLearning’s live teletherapy environment, psychoeducational assessments are administered via secure, interactive video by remote school psychologists, enabling schools to quickly and effectively conduct initial, re-evaluation, and triennial assessments.
The online, remote administration of cognitive and achievement tests by school psychologists enables school districts in states with expanded eligibility requirements to more rapidly qualify students who need mental health services.
“It is critical to get timely information for interventions and services so students don’t lose valuable instructional time, and live, online psychoeducational assessments make that a reality,” said Clay Whitehead, PresenceLearning Founder and CEO. “Additionally, using remote school psychologists to perform these assessments and screenings enables onsite staff to focus on necessary areas such as crisis prevention, behavioral interventions, and providing much-needed therapy services to students, which can help improve the school climate as a whole while allowing districts to more efficiently and effectively make use of their resources.”
“PresenceLearning’s secure, live, online video platform creates an innovative way for schools and institutions to obtain vital information using the RIAS-2,” said Kristin Greco, PAR CEO. “The RIAS-2 is ideal for tele-assessment services because it comprehensively assesses intelligence with a short administration time.”
In addition to psychoeducational assessments, PresenceLearning conducts a wide range of online assessments for speech-language, occupational therapy, and behavior and mental health, including: articulation, expressive and receptive language, fluency, and pragmatics; fine motor, visual motor, and sensory integration; and emotional disturbance, or other health impairment. Assessments and screenings for 504 eligibility, intervention planning, and pre-referral for at-risk students can also be performed by PresenceLearning’s online service providers.
