Florida State University Senior Jeremy Guttveg Selected for Highly Competitive Yamaha Internship Program
BUENA PARK, Calif. (PRWEB) July 09, 2018 -- Yamaha Corporation of America has named Florida State University (FSU) senior Jeremy Guttveg as its 2018 selection for the summer term of its Studio 60 internship program.
Chosen from a national pool of talented and accomplished applicants, Guttveg, a resident of La Palma, California, will provide Yamaha with marketing and creative support within its in-house agency experience. He will serve the three-month internship — which runs through August — at the company’s headquarters in Buena Park, California.
Jeremy recounts his exposure to music reaching far back, citing as his earliest influence his older brother Joshua, a talented drum major who also played saxophone and keyboards. He himself began playing percussion in middle school, and went on to become percussion captain in high school for three years. He was involved in his high school’s concert, jazz and marching programs, as well as the Tri-M Music Honor Society.
Following in his brother’s footsteps, he performed with renowned percussion ensemble Stryke Percussion for three years and the world-class drum corps The Academy. He was selected as one of five snare drummers from across the country to perform with the U.S. Army All-American Marching Band, and was the captain of the marching percussion section.
Jeremy earned a contract with top drum corps Teal Sound at 15, but declined, choosing instead to continue with his commitment to grow the drum program at his high school. In addition to his own school, he has taught and composed for a series of middle- and high-school programs across Florida.
“Jeremy’s passion for music, education in marketing and long-time creative and artistic involvement with his community make him a perfect fit for Yamaha,” says Roger Eaton, chief marketing director, Yamaha Corporation of America. “Our company runs an intricate and innovative customer experience environment, and working with Studio 60 will be valuable to Jeremy as he looks ahead to a career in marketing and music.”
Yamaha Studio 60 functions as an in-house advertising and creative agency for Yamaha musical instrument and audio/visual products. Studio 60 staff create and develop a broad range of digital, social and content marketing, along with a variety of other initiatives that reflect Yamaha as a world-class brand.
For nearly 30 years, Yamaha has upheld its commitment to training and supporting people interested in building music-related careers. Many former Yamaha interns now hold fruitful positions throughout the music products industry, including at instrument manufacturers, dealers, drum corps, media and other music education outlets.
