Magna Publications Celebrates 50 Years of Serving Educators and Leaders
From mailers to online newsletters and conferences, Magna Publications takes journey down 50 years.
MADISON, Wis., Jan.10, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Fifty years ago, Magna Publications had but one employee, President Bill Haight—this year, Magna Publications celebrates 50 years of serving more than 50,000 customers on more than 4,000 campuses in over 140 countries.
From a printed newsletter, folded and mailed in Haight's basement in 1972, to a multi-media publishing and training company, Magna is proud to celebrate 50 years of helping educators and leaders build expertise, cultivate their careers, and improve student success.
"When I started Magna, I really had no idea what it would become. Much of what happened over the years was an unplanned evolution rather than a long-term master plan," said Haight. "Happenstance (luck) also played a part. For instance, one book we published was the result of a consultant I met in a shuttle going to the San Francisco airport. I've learned it's always good to be able to react to changing circumstances and opportunities—you never know who you might meet and the impact they could have."
In the past 50 years, Magna has produced more than 160 national conferences, a variety of newsletters, hundreds of online programs, and published more than 12,000 articles to help equip educators and leaders with the newest thinking in teaching and educational development.
Looking ahead, Magna Publications is excited to continue to grow responsively with today's diverse and evolving learning environments and help instructors, teachers, and trainers find the inspiration they are looking for.
"One thing that has remained constant is our attention to quality—our mission statement has remained valid for many years," said Haight. "I'm beyond proud of the Magna team and loyal customers we've established these past 50 years, and I look forward to what's in store for Magna's journey and future."
