Subscription startups with less than 1,000 subscribers are encouraged to apply to win one conference ticket, hotel accommodations and airfare reimbursement
DETROIT, Oct. 11, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Today, SubSummit, the world's largest direct-to-consumer subscription conference announced the re-opening of its 2nd annual Startup Scholarship Program. The initiative empowers subscription business owners with less than 1,000 subscribers to attend the conference at no cost and connect with 2,000+ peers, mentors, and prospective partners to learn how to launch and/or grow their businesses.
"Many startups or early-stage companies don't have access to the funds or resources necessary to attend continued learning and networking events like SubSummit, which is exactly why we are thrilled to bring the Startup Scholarship Program back in 2023," said Christopher George, co-founder and chairman of SUBTA. "There's nothing better than learning from your peers, meeting with industry leaders, and connecting with prospective resource partners in person. They help you avoid the mistakes they made while telling you which opportunities you need to take advantage of. To be able to give five promising subscriptionpreneurs the opportunity of a lifetime is something our entire team is very proud of."
Select winners will receive one SubSummit ticket, hotel accommodations and airfare reimbursement – a total package valued at more than $3,600. Interested applicants are encouraged to apply at SubSummit.com/scholarship. Applications are currently open and due Dec. 13 at 11:59 p.m. EST.
Eligibility requirements are as follows:
- Must have less than 1,000 subscribers.
- Be a merchant in the direct-to-consumer subscription space.
- Have identified a growth strategy and believe SubSummit is a catalyst for that growth.
- Have not previously raised funding for the subscription business.
"The subscription industry is filled with so many promising startups," said Sarah Williams, founder of Launch Your Box and a SubSummit Startup Scholarship Program sponsor. "I'm so proud to be involved in this program and introduce new brands to even more opportunities at this year's SubSummit."
SubSummit created its Startup Scholarship program to provide access, knowledge, and networking opportunities to those who need it the most: subscription companies just starting out. As of today, SubSummit has invested more than $400,000 in subscription brands, and aims to help even more up-and-coming subscription entrepreneurs pursue their passions this year. With the subscription industry estimated to be worth more than $900 billion by 2026, the opportunities for new and evolving businesses are countless, and SubSummit is proud to serve as the launching pad for hundreds of promising, innovative DTC subscription businesses.
"Without winning the Startup Scholarship Program, we wouldn't have been able to attend SubSummit. Thanks to SUBTA, we were able to hear featured speakers from companies like Volvo, DoorDash and BootayBag," said Charmaine Merriweather, Owner & CEO of HUES Book Box, one of last year's scholarship winners. "We were able to apply the invaluable knowledge we learned to our business and today, we're proud to say we've seen our largest number of active subscribers at once!"
