The New York Energy Consumers Council (NYECC), one of the largest energy customer advocacy organizations representing energy users in New York State, today announced its 2022 Energy New York Awards (ENYA) recipients. Doreen Harris, President & CEO of NYSERDA, served as Keynote Speaker at the event. ENYA Winners included Energy Investment Systems, JLJ Sustainability Solutions and Vornado Realty. Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Award Winners included Bomee Jung and Pat Sapinsley.

The ENYA honors organizations and individuals who demonstrate exceptional leadership and innovation in energy use and sustainability, and whose work has vast impact. Doreen Harris, President & CEO of NYSERDA, served as Keynote Speaker at the event.
- Janet Joseph, Principal of JLJ Sustainability Solutions, received a vision award for leading NYSERDA's work in building decarbonization, advancing programs and policies to deliver a carbon-neutral building stock.
- Lewis M. Kwit, President of Energy Investment Systems, received an innovation award for his significant impact on energy policy and planning throughout his career and for launching the first real time project in NYC.
- Gaston Silva, Chief Operating Officer, Vornado Realty Trust, received a leadership award for the development of Vornado's sustainability program, which is on track to meet its goal of carbon neutrality by 2030 and for his years in various NYC government positions, positively influencing NY real estate.
The ENYA Award for Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI), for those who demonstrate an inspiring level of leadership to drive greater justice, equity, diversity and inclusion in the world of New York City real estate/energy was awarded to:
- Bomee Jung, Co-founder and CEO of Cadence OneFive Inc, has contributed to New York City's climate leadership through policy and programmatic innovations since 2002, including leading the nation's first large-scale public housing electrification design-build program.
- Pat Sapinsley, Managing Director of Cleantech Initiatives at NYU Urban Future Lab/ACRE, has overseen the creation of approximately 1000 jobs, graduated 67 companies from ACRE and another 48 companies in its short duration accelerators..
John Pierce, Advisory Director, of Rockefeller Group was presented a Lifetime Service Award for the positive impact and lives changed through the many organizations he's been affiliated with during his career, including his work with ACE, which mentors students and focuses on career readiness and preparation for further education, serving over 1,300 students annually in NYC.
Also recognized at the event were Rick Wilson, Neiman Marcus Group; Dennis Auriemma and Mike Fallon, Vornado Realty Trust; Cissy Bai, TBL Building Sciences; Amanda Clevinger, Bright Power: Laura Spencer Humphrey and Joe Weishaar, L+M Development Partners.
Diana Sweeney, Executive Director, NYECC noted "Our ENYA honorees are leaders who have made a significant, positive impact on energy, sustainability and the environment in NYC.
