TEL AVIV, Israel, Nov. 15, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- 4Cast, the leading developer of DI powered by AI platforms that support decision-making processes and optimize effectiveness, today announced its collaboration with SPIN Global, The Institute for Diversity and Inclusion in Emergency Management (I-DIEM), and the International Association of Emergency Management (IAEM). Together, they are forming a global initiative intended to shape the development of decision-making, enabling more equitable decisions before, during and after disasters.
After a series of virtual webinars, workshops, and weekly work sessions, 4Cast has developed and published the world's first open-source equitable decision intelligence model that is both sensitive to social and economic vulnerability and supportive of advanced planning, preparedness, mitigation, response and recovery needs.
The team applied the model in the context of three functional pilots at local and national levels that included equitable decision intelligence planning for cascading flood events, severe winter weather and medical home support for vulnerable populations, and automated organizational equity assessments. These pilots helped test and evaluate methods of utilizing AI in the context of emergency management planning, equity assessments, and workforce development.
According to Nissim Titan, founder, and CEO of 4Cast "Many groups that develop artificial intelligence (AI) tend to do it in isolation, delivering incomplete and unsatisfactory results. That's why our team has chosen to convene in a way that is fully open, inclusive, and crowd-tested, to develop a tool that earns the trust and confidence of the whole community. Our end goal is to publish an operational equity standard from which future decision-making can be based." He adds, "At 4Cast, we are delighted to be part of this collaboration which places us at the forefront of decision intelligence AI technologies for the emergency sector."
4Cast, SPIN Global, and I-DIEM look forward to attending and sharing these results and future developments at the 2022 IAEM Annual Conference and Emergency Management and Homeland Security Expo (EMEX) (https://www.iaem.org) in Savannah, GA, dedicated to representing professionals whose goals are saving lives and protecting property and the environment during emergencies and disasters.
