The Society for Corporate Governance, the leading organization for Corporate Governance in the United States, today announced the appointment of Christina Maguire as its new President & CEO, effective January 1, 2023.
NEW YORK, Dec. 12, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Society for Corporate Governance, the leading organization for Corporate Governance in the United States, today announced the appointment of Christina Maguire as its new President & CEO, effective January 1, 2023. Current President & CEO Darla Stuckey will serve in that capacity until December 31, 2022, and then will serve as Senior Advisor to the CEO until her retirement on April 1, 2023.
Christina is well known in the governance industry, and she brings over 24 years of corporate governance experience to the CEO role, having most recently served as Managing Director at BNY Mellon. In that role, Christina oversaw the policy, voting and operations functions for approximately $2 trillion in assets at over 12,000 issuers. Previously, Ms. Maguire held a similar role at Fidelity Investments for 15 years. Christina knows many Society members through her engagement with them over the years. She is also well known to the Society as a speaker and participant at Society events. She is keenly interested in education and professional development, and she has served as a member of the Society's Certified Corporate Governance Professional ("CCGP") Oversight Commission since its inception. She also has been instrumental in governance education efforts at the Rock Center of NYU.
