U.S. Patent covers colorization of point clouds and meshes, Japanese and Chinese patents issued on laser scanner with real-time, online ego-motion estimation
PITTSBURGH, Aug. 31, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Kaarta, the innovator of real-time mobile 3D reality capture, announced today that it was awarded three new patents, further strengthening its burgeoning intellectual property portfolio.
U.S. Pat. No. 11,398,075 for Methods and Systems for Processing and Colorizing Point Clouds and Meshes issued on July 26, 2022 by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. The patent covers Kaarta's novel approach to processing point clouds and meshes using multiple positioning data points to apply the images to the mesh, including applying colorization techniques.
The Japanese Patent Office (JPO Patent No. 6987797 issued December 3, 2021) and the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA Patent No. 109313024 issued June 17, 2022) awarded patents for Laser Scanner with Real-time Ego-motion Estimation. These patents' claims for Kaarta's foundational technology cover the underpinnings of Kaarta Engine, Kaarta's distinct approach to solving the SLAM (simultaneous localization and mapping) problem.
