Device Technologies, Inc. (DTi), designer and manufacturer of specialty wire protection, cable management and sealing solutions, has just applied for FAA Design Approval for a PMA -Parts Manufacturer Approval for Spring-Fast® Wire Protection Grommets.

for a PMA -Parts Manufacturer Approval for Spring-Fast® Wire Protection Grommets.
Once approved aerospace engineers and techs can take advantage of the vastly superior M22529 grommet technology and replace the old legacy MS21266 glued nylon grommets.
DTi in concert with the Boston ACO (Aircraft Certification Office) has identified the make and model of a wide range of TC (Type Certified) aircraft where Spring-Fast M22529 wire protection grommet edging have been proposed as a suitable replacement and preferred alternate for the MS21266 series nylon grommets.
This process has just been completed and DTi has now submitted a request for formal design approval. The design approval phase of a PMA certifies that a replacement component such as Spring-Fast complies with the airworthiness standards of eligible products. DTi had to show/prove this compliance through submitted tests and computations. Approval is expected shortly.
The submission cites the technical data needed to support the application and its approval. This PMA will apply to the current on market variants of Spring-Fast M22529/1 and M22529/2.
This certification will allow DTi to make greater inroads into the after-market and then it is expected to work its way into new designs.
