Announcing the Formation of Building CommUnity; Novel Multimedia Communications Organization
New York, New York (PRWEB) July 28, 2023 -- Co-Founders Aaliytha Stevens and Amy Sprecher, distinctively melding their own diverse backgrounds and perspectives, have launched Building CommUnity LLC, specializing in cultural transformation and narrative change strategy by underscoring the mission of building a purposeful multicultural and multiracial CommUnity with the belief that together, we can build equitable opportunity and prosperity.
Building CommUnity expands on traditional anti-bias, DEIB and cultural competency training, and creates spaces for deep dialogue between people of all backgrounds in order to increase awareness of the complexities of barriers causing divisions, and to begin to build pathways to a compassionate multicultural CommUnity through a unique combination of shared storytelling, racial healing, understanding, empathy and compassion, educating, guiding and communication.
In addition, beyond standard communication and marketing services, Building CommUnity’s focus is to help organizations conceive and construct consistent messaging and narratives both internally and externally with the goal of forging inclusive and equitable environments, creating powerful movements, as well as expanding the demographic diversity of client and consumer bases. Building CommUnity services non-profit and for-profit organizations, including business, education, community organizations and activism environments.
Building CommUnity is currently working with the National Collaborative for Health Equity (NCHE – http://www.nationalcollaborative.org) involving communications and narrative change research and marketing strategy. Dr. Gail C. Christopher (Executive Director of NCHE and the force behind the Kellogg Foundation’s Truth, Racial Healing, and Transformation™ methodology) states, “Ms. Stevens and Ms. Sprecher bring their breadth of expertise to the table, and they also bring a unique understanding and ability to enhance messaging and narrative change strategy in ways that give space for diverse communities to listen and empathize with each other.”
Building CommUnity was born out of the acknowledgement that we are in a critical and dangerous time in our world history with increased nationalism and white supremacy and that divisions, distrust, and fear between races and cultures, religions, gender identities, and generations, even amongst people of similar social and political beliefs, continues to cost everyone by resulting in massive barriers to unified multicultural action. Stevens and Sprecher believe that building awareness of the positivity of coming together is a key element to lifting all people, and especially traditionally marginalized and low-income communities.
The Co-Founders have been in the trenches together since 2018 on the gospel musical, Turning 15 on the Road to Freedom, in which Sprecher is a Co-Producer and also General Manager, and Stevens’ recent company, SpotCo, handled branding and marketing. Voza Rivers, Executive Producer of the oldest Black non-profit New York theatre company, New Heritage Theatre Group (http://www.newheritagetheatre.org), and also a Co-Producer of Turning 15, has worked closely with both women. “The passion that these two women have to be changemakers by helping to forge vital unity and solidarity between people of all backgrounds is tremendously needed in today’s divisive world. I could not be more thrilled and supportive of their work.”
