Embracing new technology, Royal Media has begun using ChatGPT in its editorial operations, the news company announced today.
NEW YORK, June 19, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Novel approach to AI opens a new chapter for editorial and content innovation.
Embracing new technology, Royal Media has begun using ChatGPT in its editorial operations, the news company announced today.
In a beta program, Royal has already used ChatGPT to produce about 30 articles across its seven news brands. Royal plans to continue testing the use of ChatGPT – and artificial intelligence, broadly – for editorial purposes.
"At Royal, the hallmark of our strategy is to engage in constant innovation, digital transformation and exploration," said JJ Hornblass, CEO, Royal Media. "Our venture into AI for editorial is just the latest in our long push to transform and improve our editorial products and services for the benefit of our clients and industries."
Royal is using ChatGPT to write some of its news articles, using particular parameters and safeguards. For example, all ChatGPT-produced news articles are reviewed by a human editor for veracity and quality, and to protect intellectual property ownership.
"While there are risks, we see AI enhancing the content industry and Royal Media's products and services," Hornblass said. "While we continue to closely watch how our ChatGPT experiment progresses, we expect AI to continue to improve Royal Media and its news brands."
