New children’s eBook for Hanukkah is a rare treat for the whole family

Moscovitz, a kindergarten (K-3) teacher for many years, notes that there is not enough material about Hanukkah for pre-schoolers and their families. “I have always been fascinated by people whose birthdays fall on special holidays”, she adds. “So we wrote this story about a young Jewish boy whose birthday coincides with Hanukkah. He is a special child, and his special birthday turns into a real adventure for the whole family.”
In the story, a young boy named Jacob receives a puppy for his birthday on Hanukkah, and he is ecstatic. He and the puppy become close friends. But when the puppy is mysteriously missing at Jacob’s birthday party, he and his family and friends turn the house upside-down to find him.
Readers will enjoy this wholesome tale of the love shared between puppy and child and the warm family values in the celebration of the Festival of Lights. The story is entertaining for kids of all religions, especially kids who love animals. Hebrew lyrics and transliterations are also included to facilitate sing-alongs.

About the Authors
Shoshana Moscovitz immigrated to Canada from Israel in 1968, and received her teaching degree in Montreal. She has had a successful career for more than 35 years teaching young children. As well, she is an active volunteer for community organizations. Shoshana has two daughters and two granddaughters whom she loves dearly. Her greatest joy is helping children to learn.
Robert Thompson was born in Canada. He attended McGill University where he received a Master’s Degree in Mathematics. He has had a successful business career, including owning his own companies for the past 20 years. Robert has a daughter and granddaughter whom he loves dearly. He is now retired from business and is writing children’s books.
