NVTC April 26th Titans Event Hosts Micron President and CEO Sanjay Mehrotra
HERNDON, Va. (PRWEB) April 15, 2019 -- The Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC) has announced that Micron Technology Inc. (MICRON) CEO & President, Sanjay Mehrotra, will join Gary Shapiro, CEO of the Consumer Technology Association, in a fireside chat to discuss Micron’s new $3 billion manufacturing facility. Micron, which makes computer chips for smartphones, automobiles and other consumer products, plans to add 100,000 square feet of workspace to its 123-acre plant in Manassas, Va. In addition, the project is expected to create 1,100 new jobs for the region. The discussion will focus on advanced manufacturing capabilities, and building intelligent workforce to sustain and advance technology.
For more than 40 years, Micron’s memory and storage solutions have led to disruptive technologies and trends in the areas of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and autonomous vehicles across market segments like cloud, data center, networking, mobile and automotive.
Sanjay Mehrotra has served as Micron’s President & CEO since 2017. Prior to joining the company, Mehrotra was with SanDisk Corporation, an early pioneer in flash storage technology. Mehrotra was one of the original co-founders of SanDisk, helping lead the company from a start-up in 1988 to its eventual sale in 2016. Mehrotra also serves as the current Chair of the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA), a position he’s held since November 2018.
