AccuQuilt Unveils the Winning Design from their 2015 Quilt Block Design Contest
Omaha, NE (PRWEB) June 12, 2015 -- AccuQuilt recently unveiled the winning design of their 2015 Quilt Block Design Contest. The quilt block was designed by quilter Sherry Rose of Cave Creek, AZ and can be seen on a 17-foot sign outside their headquarters for an entire year. Rose and her family attended the event along with contest runner-up Heidi Fry from Green River, WY, whose design is displayed inside their offices.
“I must say, having my design on the big sign is my favorite part of the contest prize package,” said Rose.
In addition to the winners, AccuQuilt hosted over 100 retreaters who were attending the Country Traditions 5th Annual Let’s GO! Quilting Retreat in Fremont, Neb. They received the royal treatment as they met AccuQuilt staff, toured the Dream Studio, and viewed the latest AccuQuilt Gallery exhibit featuring work by the talented designer Edyta Sitar. Sitar is the co-founder and owner of Laundry Basket Quilts and is a fabric designer for Moda Fabrics.
Sitar was the guest speaker for the unveiling event and gave a presentation to the retreaters before beginning her trunk show, which focused on the reasons why people quilt and featured many of her stunning quilts.
“We are truly thankful to the magnificent Edyta Sitar for such an inspiring presentation and for not only sharing her breathtaking quilts with us, but her family stories as well,” said AccuQuilt Chief Energizing Officer, Steve Nabity.
Before the group left to return to their retreat, AccuQuilt provided lunch in addition to a GO! bag filled with a variety of special quilting products.
Sitar visited the retreaters at Country Traditions the next day and taught an appliqué class featuring her new GO! Butterfly die. She showed the class her tips and tricks for appliqué and happily assisted the retreaters as they worked on their butterfly projects.
The GO! Butterfly die by Edyta Sitar as well as hundreds of GO! products are available at local retail stores and accuquilt.com.
