Airtel Goes Live with CATS for Asset Lifecycle Management
Airtel is the latest large Communication Service Provider to deploy Fulcrum's CATS software for comprehensive, enterprise-wide asset lifecycle management with full integration into multiple back-office applications.
SEATTLE, Aug. 9, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Fulcrum Technologies, the maker of CATS Asset Lifecycle Management (ALM) software, today announced the official go-live of Airtel's asset lifecycle management platform. Airtel, the world's 3rd largest carrier, can now track all networkwork infrastructure assets across business units, with full integration to multiple enterprise level back-office applications and network operational support systems.
This recent implementation gives Airtel visibility, insight, and control of their critical assets and infrastructure through all phases of the lifecycle. "The implementation of CATS is aimed at making the asset tracking mechanism smoother and error-free and to address the problems that are faced in our day-to-day activities at the warehouse and in the field", said Abhay Savargaonkar, Airtel's CTO. Airtel now has detailed tracking from purchasing to disposal and all intermediary steps in-between; including install and turn-up, capitalization, return to warehouse, maintenance, replacements, warranty management, return/repair, and more.
To accomplish this, CATS replaced Airtel's manual paper processes with mobilized data collection and multi-layer electronic discovery. The mobile solution, powered by CATS Mobility 2.0, captures assets in real-time across field locations, warehouses, transportation centers, and back-office areas. The electronic discovery functionality provides automated audits, corrections and updates of all connected physical network assets. This combination gives Airtel a verified, accurate, standardized and comprehensive item master and fixed asset register (FAR), which can now be leveraged across all departments for better decision making and cost savings.
Airtel will use the CATS excess management and reuse capabilities to reduce the need for new purchases while minimizing shipping costs through proximity redistribution schemes. This will all add up to millions of dollars of Return on Investment (ROI), and a distinct competitive advantage.
"Fulcrum's CATS software gives a real-time, accurate view of all Airtel assets in a centralized database that they haven't had before. This will give them CAPEX reductions, spares efficiency, OPEX optimizations, and regulatory compliance that is a world-class competitive advantage", states Brent Bauer, CEO and Founder of Fulcrum Technologies.
