Allyson Carey Honored with Second Emmy Win
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) July 16, 2014 -- Allyson Carey, a 20-year makeup artist veteran in Hollywood and the co-creator of T!NTALIZE®, the Premier Concealer for Feet, is celebrating her second Emmy win. On June 20, 2014 the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) again acknowledged Ms. Carey's creative contribution to "The Bold and The Beautiful" daytime drama series with its prestigious Emmy award. She was first honored in 2011 when her efforts helped the show garner its first Emmy in 18 years. That she has won a second in only four years stands as testimony to her creative excellence as well as that of the entire makeup team.
The nomination process is especially rigorous and competitive, and narrows the pool for the award of Outstanding Acheivement in Makeup for a Drama Series to four nominated makeup teams, "The Bold and the Beautiful" being one of them. The results of the nomination process which is announced in late April also finalize the results for the winner which is then revealed in late June. When asked how she feels about her current win, Ms. Carey admits that she is incredulous; she never expected another win, although she secretly hoped her team would win, especially because so much of her work was featured on their reel submission. She is very quick to mention, however, that she would not be a recipient without the talent of her team members, and she gives them much praise and many thanks.
Ms. Carey started on “The Bold and the Beautiful” part time in 2006 and was on call to work whenever a member of the makeup team was absent from the show. She was ultimately offered a job as a full time artist in 2007, and has been beautifying the faces of the daytime TV stars ever since. Her passion for makeup has taken her all over the globe, including living in London, England, Dusseldorf, Germany and most recently Milan, Italy where her work graced the catwalks of such designers as Dolce & Gabbana, Versace, Prada, and Giorgio Armani to name a few. Indeed, her extensive work in fashion spans the decade and a half prior to her entry into television. And given her immense talent and illustrious career, we're certain that this year's Emmy win will not be the last accolade that she adds to her name. We truly celebrate her crowning achievement at the 2014 Emmys.
Ms. Carey is also an entrepreneur. Her passion for makeup and shoes, along with her long-standing friendship with partner, Sidney Dillard, blossomed into the idea for T!NTALIZE®, the Premier Concealer for Feet. This trade secret protected product is waterproof, sweat proof, rub proof, smudge proof, with buildable and long-lasting coverage. A word from Allyson Carey:
"I have transformed faces and whipped dos for twenty-plus years. For the most part, I've been a Los Angeles based artist; however, I spent a couple of years in my early career in Germany. I lived in Düsseldorf, but traveled frequently to Hamburg, Munich and throughout Europe for editorial and catalog shoots. One of the things I discovered while overseas is that there is no place like home, so back to LaLa I came, and I spent the next decade building a reputation doing commercials. But, of course, the travel bug bit again, and, as I adhere to the mantra, “LIVE THE LIFE OF YOUR DREAMS,” I put everything in storage and headed to Milano, Italia. This time the focus was strictly fashion, and while I naturally did catalog to pay the bills when the models were not strutting the catwalk, I worked every fashion show possible, from Armani to Versace to Prada.
"My ultimate return to Los Angeles saw a determination to smooth the typically tumultuous finances of the free-lance artist, and I branched into television for a steady gig. I went to Makeup Designory (MUD) to learn special effects, prosthetic application and airbrushing. I now work on The Bold and The Beautiful where I can combine my skills from fashion with the effects training I learned at MUD. In 2011, I won my first Emmy.
"Once I returned from Europe, besides my transition to television, I found myself completing another life-long dream. A long-time friend from Stanford--YES, I did go to college!-- Sidney Dillard, and I were talking in her kitchen, and she expressed her dismay that there was no product on the market to cover blemishes on the foot. She LOVES her stilettos, and they, of course, haven't loved her feet in return; she has a few corns that she likes to conceal. Right then and there, we decided to create a product specifically for the beautification of feet, and T!NTALIZE the Premier Concealer for Feet was born. Launched in 2009, T!® Concealer offers rub-proof coverage for abrasions, age spots, brown or red rub marks, eczema, green veins, scars, tattoos, vitiligo, etc. In case you can't tell, I love my product.
