Largest international swim school franchise now serving families in southeast Tennessee with year-round swim lessons for children

Located at 6413 Lee Highway, Ste. 101 near the Hamilton Place Mall off I-75, Aqua-Tots Hamilton Place opened to the community on Monday, January 16, 2023.
Aqua-Tots Hamilton Place is the fourth location for franchise owners John and Malena Hankins and the first location for first-time franchisee Daniel Lopera Hankins. Upon opening the state-of-the-art 7,500 square foot facility, the team at Aqua-Tots will be ready to serve families throughout Hamilton County, including East Ridge, East Brainerd, Ooltewah, Collegedale, Hixson and Ringgold.
"Swimming has always been a big passion of mine," said Malena Hankins who took first in the World Masters Swimming Competition in 2019 and participated in the Catalina Crossing in 2021. "I've always been determined to keep my children safe in the water by teaching them how to swim, and I know moms in this community feel the same way. With the Tennessee River so close, we're excited about giving families a place where their children can learn lifelong water safety skills."
According to the National Institutes of Health, participation in formal swim lessons can reduce the risk of drowning by 88% among children ages one to four years old. This is increasingly important as 69% of children were not expected to be in or near a pool at the time of a drowning incident. The Aqua-Tots Swim Journey is comprised of eight levels of proven curriculum that is trusted all over the world to teach more than five million swim lessons every year.
Aqua-Tots Hamilton Place is now open Monday through Saturday. Families can reserve a spot in small group (4:1 ratio), semi-private (2:1 ratio) or private (1:1 ratio) lessons before classes fill up. Aqua-Tots Hamilton Place also features the Special Needs Aquatic Program (S.N.A.P.) and Fast Track.
