Aquaro Histology Launches Aquaro Wishbone™ Blade Handling Tool To Improve Safety of Changing Microtome Blades
ANN ARBOR, Mich. (PRWEB) July 24, 2018 -- Aquaro Histology, Inc. announced today the launch of the Aquaro Wishbone blade handling tool (https://www.aquarobio.com/product/aquaro-wishbone/), the first handheld tool that allows histologists to change and align microtome blades without touching the blade. The Aquaro Wishbone aligns with Aquaro Histology’s mission of improving safety for histologists, and is its first product to be available for purchase through the company’s website.
The Aquaro Wishbone allows users to insert and align microtome blades as well as remove and dispose of them without ever touching the blade. This aids users in two ways: (1) reducing the risk of injury from the microtome blade, and (2) decreasing the occurrence of lost tissue due to partial sections by ensuring the blade is aligned. The Aquaro Wishbone blade handling tool is designed to:
• Remove dull blades from the blade holder using the embedded magnet
• Safely dispose of blades
• Slide blades into the microtome blade holder
• Apply equal pressure to both ends of the blade for level alignment
The Aquaro Wishbone complements the company’s other product, the Aquaro ASM™ (Automated Section Mounting), which facilitates hands-free microtomy in histology laboratories by transferring paraffin-embedded sections from the blade to slides.
“The Aquaro Wishbone represents one of the core values of our company, which is improving safety around microtomy,” said Aquaro Histology Vice President, Sales and Marketing Greg Krueger. “We are delighted to offer a tool that we believe will reduce injuries and help histologists align the microtome blade for better sectioning.”
Concurrent with the launch of the Aquaro Wishbone, the company has updated its web address to http://www.aquarohisto.com to reflect its commitment to creating tools to help the histologist, and launched new ecommerce capabilities on the company’s website.
The Aquaro Wishbone is commercially available now. Visit http://www.aquarohisto.com to purchase the Aquaro Wishbone and to learn more.
