Atlanta based Harman Law Firm Files a Lawsuit in Georgia Court for Alleged Wrongful Death of 5-Year-old Girl who was Strangled in Playground Climbing Bars
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) June 05, 2017 -- The Harman Law Firm is a leading Atlanta-based firm that has represented countless wrongful death cases nationwide and according to the Harman Law Firm, the death of Tyrah is a death that could have been prevented. It has been over a year since Tyrah DeBruhl’s death. According to the Newton County Superior Court documents, Tyrah was playing on the monkey bars during recess at her Newton County public school when her head got stuck in between the bars and she was strangled to death. Harman Law Firm has now filed a wrongful death lawsuit in the Newton County Superior Court – Case Number SU-CV-2017-000971 - on behalf of Tyrah’s parents, Lee Andree and Latanya DeBruhl.
According the court documents, the playground monkey bars did not meet equipment safety standards that were established decades ago, which prohibit areas that allow a child’s head to become stuck.
Also, according to court documents, the Harman Law Firm intends to expose the numerous violations in internal safety rules that occurred from Newton County Theme School staff on the day of Tyrah’s death.
“Nothing can bring Tyrah back, but we’re hopeful that in seeking justice for her family we can make our community safer for all of our children,” says Attorney Matt Harman.
Since Tyrah’s death, Lee Andree and Latanya DeBruhl founded Safeatplay.org, an organization dedicated to increasing awareness in the prevention of needless childhood playground injuries.
