Recent release "The Invisible Backpack: A Life of Courage" from Page Publishing author William L. Hartwick is a collection of rhymes that details how trauma pain and grief are carried by an "invisible backpack" and by releasing these negative emotions the heavy weight of the backpack is reduced. It is inspired from the life-long struggle the author endured to accept himself completely as he is.
MEDFORD, Ore., June 10, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- William L. Hartwick, creator of the app "Blue Review" who has been living with Tourette's, has completed his new book "The Invisible Backpack: A Life of Courage": a motivating and thought-provoking set of rhythmic writings that show how positive emotions such as love, acceptance, tolerance, and forgiveness will lighten the weight that soul's carry. William writes in the poem "Tourette's:"
"My label given to me has long been misread.
Even those who have this "gift" have been misled.
Medication was prescribed, what a fiasco that became.
It is not okay for medical professionals to cause "us" to go insane.
The only neurological disorder unknown to those prescribing drugs.
Sorry Dr. Narus, love is the answer, please start prescribing "hugs."
I want some of what you are on. Can I have some "S***!"
I have Tourrette's. Do you want some of "IT?"
My final straw came when I was arrested and thrown in jail.
"DUI Other Than Alcohol," just try to make bail.
Before you judge those of us who suffer from this pain,
Think to yourself, what do I have to gain?
We all have a disability. Take a look in the mirror.
Can I walk on water or simply have a fear...
So often people walk away or simply want to ignore.
Maybe Tourrete's will go away; we won't have to deal with "them" anymore.
To all of you who have this gift, the one that makes me "ME."
Don't let them put you in the "box;'' live and be free.
I'm proud of my life, each and every day.
Of course there's time I think "make it," go away.
So when you are passing judgement, or "choosing" to discriminate,
you are now one of THEM, you are causing the HATE!"
Published by Page Publishing, William L. Hartwick's motivational collection of rhythmical writings describing the different emotions people carry in their lives. The author endured a lifelong struggle with Tourette's, but finally was able to accept himself as he is. He describes how people are born with an "invisible backpack."
This ever-present backpack holds the pain one endures throughout life. As infants, the backpack is light, but as people grow older the hurt and pain weigh the backpack down. People are resistant to lightening their load and releasing these emotions. However, by making room for positive emotions like love and forgiveness, the load will lessen the weight of this "invisible backpack." Readers will be inspired to ease their burden and reduce the weight of their own personal "invisible backpack."
Readers who wish to experience this expressive work can purchase "The Invisible Backpack: A Life of Courage" at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes Store, Amazon, Google Play, or Barnes and Noble.
