NEW YORK, Feb. 20, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Philip Bruder, M.D., F.A.A.D., announced the launch of his new medical practice Soho Hair MD—a state-of-the-art dermatology practice focused exclusively on the non-surgical evaluation and treatment of hair loss. Utilizing the latest techniques and advancements in medicine and research, Dr. Bruder offers a comprehensive, scientifically-driven, individualized approach to the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of hair loss.
Genetic hair loss is seen in 50 percent of women by age 50 and even more frequently in men. In addition to male and female genetic–or patterned–hair loss, there are numerous reasons why people lose hair, including hormone irregularities, autoimmune issues, and stress. Successful treatment requires addressing all causes of each patient's hair loss.
"Hair loss is much more common than a lot of people are aware. For many patients seeking help for hair loss, the process is deeply psychological and emotional," said Dr. Bruder. "Each patient is different and, therefore, each patient's evaluation and treatment is specific to them. At Soho Hair MD we provide compassionate care, an individualized plan and a medically-driven approach to the diagnosis and treatment of hair loss. Our ultimate goal is to work with each patient to address the root causes of their hair loss and achieve long-lasting results."
With over 25 years of clinical experience in dermatology, Dr. Bruder earned his medical degree from the NYU School of Medicine. He was Chief Resident in Dermatology at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center and currently serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Dermatology at Columbia. Throughout his career, Dr. Bruder has educated and trained the Columbia dermatology residents by helping them in their clinics, leading them in review courses, and mentoring. He's been named to the list of Castle Connolly Top Doctors every year since 2017, and was the only doctor who focuses exclusively on hair loss named to New York Magazine's Best Doctors list in 2019.
Dr. Bruder founded his first private practice, Bruder Dermatology, in 1994 on New York's Upper East Side, where he led a trusted and respected group of dermatologists who cared for and treated thousands of patients with a spectrum of common and rare problems of the skin, nails and hair.
In his new practice, Dr. Bruder will focus on specialty areas including genetic hair loss in women and men, also known as Androgenetic Alopecia (AGA) or patterned hair loss; Alopecia Areata; Telogen Effluvium; Lichen Planopilaris (LPP); Frontal Fibrosing Alopecia (FFA); Central Centrifugal Cicatricial Alopecia (CCCA); Pseudopelade; Follicular Degeneration Syndrome (FDS); Folliculitis Delcalvans and Discoid Lupus (DLE). Platelet-rich Plasma (PRP) is one of the many treatment modalities offered by Dr. Bruder.
