Brian Kruk to speak on quality assurance in San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO, Oct. 24, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Brian Kruk, CIA, CISA, CGAP, CCSA, CCA, senior director of quality assessment services at Top 100 CPA firm, Honkamp Krueger & Co., P.C. will speak at the San Antonio Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors' (IIA) meeting Dec. 18, 2019, in San Antonio, Texas. Kruk is an accomplished speaker in the realm of quality assurance and internal audit and will present "Quality Assurance & Improvement Program: Audit Process vs Program: The Difference… and Why it Matters."

Kruk's presentation will cover an important and sometimes overlooked portion of the Standards, the quality assurance and improvement programs required by the IIA's Red Book in the 1300 series. Kruk said, "Substantial changes have occurred over the years in the quality Standards, but the quality assurance initiative initially established to ensure internal audit activities remain focused on the needs of their customers, stakeholders and oversighting committees has not diminished."

With experience as the associate vice president of quality audit services for the IIA, Kruk is the ideal educator on this topic as his group was the driving force in the rollout of the new quality assessment initiatives. Since leaving the IIA, Brian has continued as an instructor for the IIA with a specific focus on both the external and internal quality assessment classes.

Brian has over 30 years of professional business experience including 20+ years of progressive experience in internal audit, 7 years in management level finance and 6 years in executive level management. As a national practice director of quality assessment services for a nationwide professional service provider, he directed and led hundreds of quality assessment internal audit engagements for a wide variety of clients, including several Fortune 100 companies.
