Building Communities of Hope Across Los Angeles
Procovery Institute will be selecting strategic partners, providing training at no cost, and offering a limited number of both full and partial Procovery program scholarships as part of its new collective to combat homelessness across Los Angeles.
LOS ANGELES, Oct. 11, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Today, Procovery Institute, LLC., a boutique consulting firm, announced its plan for a city-wide collective: Building Communities of Hope across Los Angeles - One Procovery Circle at a time.
There will be multiple pertinent components and objectives to each phase of this collective and combating homelessness will be one of the most critical of objectives across each of the phases. For this collective, Procovery Institute plans to select strategic partners, across Los Angeles agencies and communities, whose deep desire, dedication and commitment are already changing lives.
Collectives of this nature can be exceptionally challenging for many reasons, far beyond the complex nature of the population being served. Some of these challenges are results of separate funding streams, varied organizational structures and objectives, matters of communication (both inner and inter agency), diverse outcomes being sought, as well as the distinct need for project direction, management and coordination. As such, and to ensure success of this collective, Procovery Institute will be providing project direction, management and coordination, as well as planning, consultation, and extensive technical support.
During the first phase of this collective, Procovery Institute will be working with LaVonna Lewis, PhD, MPH, Teaching Professor of Public Policy, and Director, Diversity and Inclusion Initiatives at the USC Sol Price School of Public Policy. Professor Lewis has stated "I am excited about the opportunity to work with Procovery Institute on a project that will provide a platform for shared learning and understanding between students and communities, not only about mental health, but about the connection and integration of mental health with primary care, substance abuse and trauma informed care."
Of Procovery Institute's decision to move forward with initiation of this collective, Kathleen Crowley, Executive Director, stated "Having worked for the last twenty years with people who are living with some of the most complex, and many times co-occurring, mental and physical diagnoses and with those who are living in some of the most complex settings (prison, forensic psychiatric wards and without housing), we have learned, firsthand, where and how people can heal, despite the all too frequent belief to the contrary. We look forward to showing Los Angeles what Procovery can do to help us move our communities forward."
Introductory and Facilitator trainings will be held on campus at USC, at no cost to attendees, and Procovery Circles associated with this collective will be initiated in early 2019.
Procovery Institute will award a limited number of both full and partial scholarships to selected agencies, organizations or individuals through the Randy Stratt Building Hope, Healing and LIFE Scholarship Fund. Scholarship recipients will serve as the first providers of Procovery Circles within this collective, with full scholarship awardees receiving consultation, technical support, Facilitator and group materials, as well as all applicable licensing*, at no cost.
