The Class of 2023 was recognized for its academic achievements at two in-person commencement ceremonies
SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif., June 26, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- California Connections Academy, a leading network of six tuition-free online public schools serving students in grades TK-12 across 32 counties in California, recently celebrated 926 graduating high school seniors at two in-person commencement ceremonies. The virtual school held a Northern California commencement ceremony at the University of California, Berkeley's Zellerbach Hall on June 20 and a Southern California commencement ceremony at the University of California, Irvine's Bren Events Center on June 22, where school administrators, families and friends cheered on their graduating seniors.
California Connections Academy's Class of 2023 consists of graduates from large cities and rural towns across California, including Elk Grove, Laguna Niguel, Lemoore, Modesto, San Jose, Saratoga, and more. Among the graduating class, 63% plan to attend two or four-year colleges or universities, 12% plan to enter the workforce and 10% plan to attend technical or vocational school. Graduates earned college acceptances to esteemed institutions, including UC Berkeley, UCLA, USC, Cornell University, Johns Hopkins University, New York University, and West Point, among others.
Among the graduates is California Connections Academy, Monterey Bay student and Saratoga resident Cynthia Lan.
