Philadelphia Car Accident Lawyer at Flager & Associates Comments on Report about Automobile Crash Injuries
Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) February 13, 2015 -- A report in Philly.com about car accident injuries serves as a grim reminder of the devastating nature of automobile crashes and hopefully will remind young people to observe safe driving habits, said Philadelphia car accident lawyer Randall C. Flager of Flager & Associates.
Flager commented on a Jan. 30 Philly.com report titled “Teens, Young Adults Most Likely to Go to ER After Car Accidents: Report.”
“As personal injury attorneys in Pennsylvania who have handled many car accident cases over the years, we find that the results of this study do not come as a big surprise,” Flager said today. “While young adults and teenagers can be seriously injured or die in accidents through no fault of their own, some of them lack the experience and good judgment of older drivers. That’s why we strongly encourage parents and teachers to talk to young people about the consequences of drinking and driving, texting while driving and other dangerous behavior.”
According to the HealthDay report published in Philly.com, government research finds that teens and young adults are the most likely group of people to be treated at the hospital ER with car accident injuries, among other findings.
In 2010-2011, there were nearly 4 million visits to emergency departments for automobile accident injuries. That figure translates to 10 percent of all emergency room visits, Philly.com reported.
The article stated that car wreck victims were two times more likely to be transported to the ER by ambulance compared to people with other types of injuries.
“At Flager & Associates, we handle cases that involve catastrophic injuries and wrongful death from car accidents,” Flager said. “The article illustrates that injuries in car accidents should not be taken lightly. We know that an injury or fatality can have a major impact on the victim or the surviving family members. Medical bills can add up quickly. Victims may lose income because they are hospitalized or need to take time off work to recover.”
Flager said victims and families who lost loved ones should consult with personal injury attorneys who can help them recover compensation. “We thoroughly investigate accidents to determine liability,” Flager said. “We often hire accident reconstruction experts and others who can help support a claim. Our job is to hold the responsible individual accountable and send a message that the dangerous behavior will not be tolerated. The settlement or verdict also can act as a deterrent to others and help prevent similar accidents from occurring.”
